The history of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Kingdom of Zion begins with revelations and sacred experiences through which the Lord prepared, authorized, and established this work.
Plural marriage did not begin in the Restoration as a social experiment or as a plan created by Church leaders to increase the population of the Saints. Joseph Smith taught that the practice came by commandment from God as part of the restoration of things that had existed among ancient covenant people.
