Our Beliefs
Principal beliefs
These summaries introduce the beliefs that shape our worship, ordinances, covenant life,
and preparation for Zion. Fuller teachings will be published in our scriptures and study materials.
01
God the Eternal Father
We worship God the Father as the one true and eternal God. He alone has always existed
without beginning or end. He is the source of all life, light, truth, law, power, and authority.
We worship Him in the name of Jesus Christ.
02
The Living Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Father’s Beloved and Only Begotten Son, our Savior, Redeemer,
Bridegroom, King, and Lawgiver. The Father gave Him authority to accomplish His work,
and He obeys the Father in perfect love and unity.
03
The Holy Ghost
The Holy Ghost is a spirit son of the Father. He bears witness of Jesus Christ, teaches
truth, brings revelation, sanctifies the faithful, and helps God’s children return to the Father.
04
Scripture
We receive the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of
Great Price as the word of God. We also receive the continuing revelations given by the Lord
for this Church and the Kingdom of Zion.
05
Continuing Revelation
God continues to speak. He gives personal revelation to His children and prophetic
revelation for His Church and Kingdom. Members seek to recognize the voice of Christ
through the Holy Ghost in their daily lives.
06
Grace, Salvation, and Obedience
Salvation is possible only through the grace and atonement of Jesus Christ. He calls us
to have faith, repent, receive authorized ordinances, obey His commandments, remain faithful
to our covenants, and allow Him to change us.
07
Priesthood Authority
Priesthood is authority given by Jesus Christ to act in His name. It is exercised only within
the responsibility the Lord has given. Endowed men and women may use priesthood authority
within their assigned stewardships, including their homes and families.
08
Ordinances and Covenants
Ordinances are more than symbols. Through them, people make covenants with God and receive
promised blessings and responsibilities. Baptism and the endowment belong to salvation.
Sealing belongs to the higher work of eternal marriage and exaltation.
09
The Kingdom of Zion
Zion is a people who seek to become one in heart, mind, love, and purpose. Each household
keeps its own stewardship, while members share freely, care for one another, and use what
the Lord has given them for the good of the whole people.
10
The Millennium
Jesus Christ will return and reign upon the earth for one thousand years. The knowledge of
the Lord will cover the earth, wrongs will be made right, the dead will be restored according
to His order, and people will continue to learn, repent, and progress.
11
Judgment and Exaltation
God judges with perfect truth, justice, and mercy. He considers each person’s knowledge,
opportunities, choices, works, covenants, and deepest desires. Exaltation requires becoming
like Jesus Christ and learning to live the laws of the Celestial Kingdom.
12
The New Jerusalem
We believe the New Jerusalem will be a real city built under the direction of Jesus Christ.
The Lord has not yet revealed every detail, but He has declared that Zion will build it in
preparation for His return.
