Privacy and Church records

This notice explains how The Church of Jesus Christ of the Kingdom of Zion handles information through its public website, protected Member Portal, Church records, online contributions, and electronic communications.
Public website and technical information
Most public pages can be viewed without creating an account or submitting personal information. The website and its hosting, security, and diagnostic services may process technical information such as request time, IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, security events, and diagnostic identifiers when needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
Public contact form
When you use the public contact form, the Church receives the name, email address, optional phone number, subject, and message you provide. This information is used to review and respond to your inquiry, maintain appropriate correspondence records, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot delivery problems. Please do not submit confidential spiritual, financial, medical, legal, banking, worthiness, or other highly sensitive information through the public contact form.
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Turnstile processes a challenge token and related technical information, and the Church validates that token on the server before accepting the submission.
Member accounts and official Church records
The secure Member Portal processes account and Church-record information needed for membership administration and member services. Depending on a person's circumstances and permissions, this may include identity and contact information, household and family relationships, membership status, ordinances, callings, access permissions, correction or relationship requests, approved photographs, member-visible notes, notifications, and security or audit information.
A login account is separate from an official member record. The Church uses its internal member record identifier to maintain continuity of official records even when a person's name, email address, username, or other profile information changes.
Households, family relationships, and children
Authorized parents, guardians, household members, leaders, or administrators may be permitted to provide or review information for children and dependents according to Church rules and assigned permissions. Proposed records and changes may require leadership review before becoming part of an official record. Family or household relationships do not override privacy or authorization rules.
Contributions and payment information
Online Consecrations and Offerings are available through the authenticated Member Portal. The Church Platform records contribution amounts, allocation categories, confirmation and transaction references, status information, and contribution history needed for Church accounting, reconciliation, receipts, and member records.
Sensitive card and bank-account details are collected and processed through Stripe's secure payment components. The Church Platform does not store full card numbers or full bank-account numbers. Stripe may process payment, fraud-prevention, and transaction information according to Stripe's own terms and privacy practices.
Email and other communications
The Church Platform may send account, security, contribution, request-status, library, and other Church notifications by email. Public contact-form messages are delivered to the Church office by email. Email systems necessarily process sender and recipient addresses, message content, delivery metadata, and related diagnostic information.
Service providers
The Church uses service providers to operate the website and Member Portal. These currently include Microsoft Azure for application hosting, security, storage, and diagnostics; Microsoft 365 for Church email delivery; Stripe for payment processing; and Cloudflare for website security and Turnstile anti-spam protection. Public pages also load web fonts from Google Fonts. These providers may process technical or service-related information as necessary to provide their services.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary for authentication, session security, anti-forgery protection, preferences, and other core functions. Security providers may also use technical tokens necessary to protect forms and requests. The Church Platform does not use these technologies to place third-party advertising on the website.
Retention
Information is retained according to its purpose and record type. Routine contact and technical information may be removed when it is no longer reasonably needed for operations, security, correspondence, or legal obligations. Official membership, ordinance, relationship, contribution, audit, and other Church records may be retained for longer periods when needed to preserve the integrity and history of Church records or to satisfy legal, financial, security, or ecclesiastical responsibilities.
Security
The Church uses administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Access to protected records is limited by authentication and authorization. No internet or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so visitors and members should avoid submitting information that is not necessary for the requested Church service.
Access, corrections, and privacy questions
Members can review information made available to them through the Member Portal and can use the available record-change or relationship-request processes when information needs correction. For questions about this notice or information submitted through the public website, use the protected contact form and enter Privacy in the subject field.
Changes to this notice
The Church may update this notice as the website, Member Portal, service providers, or Church processes change. The effective date above identifies the current published version.
